Metal shed construction in Alachua County: what's different
Sheds and storage buildings were the most common type in Alachua County's building permit applications from October 2025 through September 2026: 137 of them, counted from the county GIS permit layer on 2026-10-02. Only 9 say metal or steel outright. Dimensions appear on 69, and half of those are 288 sq ft or smaller, with the middle half between 200 and 360, the size of a backyard shed rather than a farm building. Permits of every type here took a median of 15 days from application to issue. The counts come from keywords and include pre-application screenings, so treat them as a sign of how often people build, not an exact tally.
