Shed foundations in North Florida: what to know

The base matters more than the size of the shed suggests. Compacted gravel drains well and suits small sheds that hold light items, with anchors driven into the ground beneath it. A poured pad gives a clean, level floor and a solid place to bolt the frame, and a slab thickened at its edges carries heavier equipment. Whichever you choose, build it a little above grade so water does not pool at the door, and keep it level before the frame goes on.
